WHAT IS A FRECKLE TATTOO?
A freckle tattoo is an advanced cosmetic procedure that offers semi-permanent results, simulating the appearance of natural freckles. This technique delicately embeds freckle-colored pigments of various shapes and sizes into the skin, utilizing a cutting-edge digital hand piece.
HOW LONG WILL MY FRECKLES LOOK THIS GOOD?
Freckle tattoo treatments are considered semi-permanent and typically lasts anywhere between 1-2 years (varies from client to client). We recommend clients to get their freckles refreshed annually.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE NEEDED?
Typically, one session is all that is needed for freckle tattoos. It is important to understand that everyone heals differently and results will vary from client to client, so some may require additional sessions to achieve the desired result.
HOW LONG DOES THE PROCEDURE TAKE?
The entire procedure takes between 1 and 1.5 hour.
Unfortunately, not everyone is a good candidate for semi-permanent makeup. It is not recommended for any clients who are or have:
Glaucoma and those who are taking blood thinning medicines (e.g. Aspirin)
Chemotherapy and Other Cancer Treatments (please consult your doctor)
Diabetic (please consult your doctor)
Viral Infections and/or Diseases
Pacemaker or major heart problems
Skin irritations or psoriasis/eczema near the treated area (rashes, sunburn, acne, etc.)
Botox within the past 2 weeks
Pregnant or nursing
Those with allergies to makeup, colors or hair-dye
Those with easily triggered post inflammatory hyper pigmentation
Those with transmittable blood conditions like HIV or Hepatitis
Are a hemophiliac
Have healing disorders, on blood thinners, uncontrolled high blood pressure or had mitral valve disorder.
Those on any skin medication such as Roaccutane, steroids which thin and oversensitive the skin.
AHA's (lactic, glycolic, citric, retinoid a d tartaric acids) or any OTC creams and lotions for tone correcting, anti-aging, exfoliating - fading can discolor your semi-permanent makeup.
Juvaderm or other "fillers" in the past 4 weeks.
Shingles (Varicella): If you have shingles on your face, please wait several months to get semi-permanent makeup.
WHAT FACTORS WILL AFFECT MY COSMETIC TATTOO?
Sunlight exposure: The sunlight will incredibly soften the look of your eyebrows, so sunscreen needs to be made use of (as soon as recovered) to prolong your enhancement.
The regrowth of skin cells: The longer the regeneration takes, the longer the pigment holds.
The speed at which the skin absorbs the pigment: The slower the absorption, the longer the pigment will hold.
The selection of color: Some color fade quicker than others, e.g. a blonde color will fade quicker than a dark brown color.
The location of therapy: Enhancements to the face, as an example, fade faster as a result of constant direct exposure.
Bleeding throughout the procedure: Any bleeding during the tattooing treatment will lower the amount of pigment absorption.
Alcohol, as well as particular medications, work as blood-thinners and must not be taken a day or two before and after your procedure.
HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE TO GET TATTOOED?
You must be 18 years or older to receive a tattoo service at LoAnn's Brow Art Studio. If you are under the age of 18 (a minor), please have your parent or legal guardian email us at LoAnnsBrowStudio@gmail.com for more information.
CAN I GET TATTOOED IF I AM PREGNANT OR NURSING?
As a precaution, we do not perform cosmetic tattoo procedures on pregnant or nursing women.
WHAT SHOULD I DO PRIOR TO MY FRECKLES TATOO TREATMENT?
Please review the pre-care information by clicking here.
HOW WILL I LOOK IMMEDIATELY AFTER? WHAT IS THE HEALING PROCESS?
Your semi-permanent make-up will appear darker and also bolder than expected for the first few days. This will slowly lighten during the full healing process. Inflammation, as well as swelling, is visible. To learn more about the healing process, click here.
WHAT SHOULD I DO AFTER THE PROCEDURE?
We have detailed post-care information here. It is highly beneficial to follow these instructions to ensure a comfortable healing process and to achieve the best results.
HOW WILL MY FRECKLES LOOK IN THE FUTURE?
During your visit, we will mix pigments to ensure the shade blends well with your existing eyebrows and hair color. Most freckles will stay true to the original tattoo shade (when healed) for a year or more, but will naturally fade over time. There are some cases, however, where colors may fade to different tones due to the client's response to specific pigments (genetics, iron deficiencies, lifestyle, etc.). To keep your freckles looking their best, a refresher treatment is recommended every year. It is important to remember that results will vary from client to client.
WHAT SHOULD I KNOW ABOUT LONG TERM CARE?
A good sunscreen should be applied daily AFTER healing and is required to help keep color true. As with any tattoo, sun exposure will make the color fade faster.
Fading speed depends on your skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure, pigment color used, broken capillaries, and if any chemical peels were done after your procedure.
If you are planning a chemical peel, laser treatment or other medical procedure, please inform the technician that you have had a cosmetic tattoo. A careful application must be taken to avoid affecting the tattooed area.
IS THE STUDIO AND EQUIPMENT SAFE?
Yes, we pride ourselves in having state-of-the-art equipment, as well as a safe and sterile studio space. We only use single-use, disposable needles, and supplies. After every client, all needles are discarded safely and stations are thoroughly disinfected.

Avoid facials, chemical peels, laser treatments, microdermabrasions, botox injections and fillers for at least 2 to 3 weeks prior to your appointment.
Avoid using Retin A (or Retinol) or Glycolic Acid on your brow area (face is ok) for at least 30 days before treatment.

You must be off of your antibiotics 2 weeks prior to your scheduled procedure.
Please do not wax, tweeze, thread, or tint eyebrows at least 3 days before your visit. If there are any stray hairs that fall outside of our final form, we will eliminate them.
Avoid blood thinners such as Ibuprofen, Aspirin, Aleve, Vitamin E, and Fish Oil at least 48-72 hours before procedure, unless it is medically necessary, in which case we will need a doctor's note.
Avoid alcohol or caffeine consumption the day before, and the day of, your scheduled procedure.
(How to Care for Your Freckles)
As soon as you arrive home from your Freckles Tattoo procedure, with clean hands, you will need to wash the treated area using a gentle facial cleanser, such as Cetaphil, CeraVe, Dove, or any baby shampoo, then pat dry with a clean paper towel or cotton pad. You will need to wash once again before bedtime.
Continue the washing process above twice a day, and start applying a thin layer of ointment (Aquafor) that was provided to you by our LoAnn’s Brow Art Studio technician/staff (morning and at night). After 10 days, you may stop the washing/ointment process and return to your normal daily routine!
