Thank you so much for respecting our time, as we respect yours!
WHAT IS LIP BLUSHING?
This treatment is provided by depositing pigment into the lips, which builds layers of color using a special permanent makeup machine pen. Lip blushing enhances your natural lip color and shape. This technique delivers very natural results once healed.
HOW LONG WILL MY LIPS LOOK THIS GOOD?
Lip blushing treatments are considered semi-permanent and will look great for two to four years, dependent on lip genetics, lifestyle, and skin type.
WILL LIP BLUSHING WORK WELL FOR ME?
Are you interested in saving time in your daily beauty routine?
Perfect for ALL skin types.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE NEEDED?
One session is all that is needed. A touchup may be necessary if the treatment does not yield ANY results (does not hold pigment). Please see our Lip Blushing Touchup Policy here.
HOW LONG DOES THE PROCEDURE TAKE?
The entire procedure takes about 1.5 to 2 hours (including consultation).
Unfortunately, not everyone is a good candidate for semi-permanent makeup. It is not recommended for any clients who are or have:
Glaucoma and those who are taking blood thinning medicines (e.g. Aspirin)
Chemotherapy and Other Cancer Treatments (please consult your doctor)
Diabetic (please consult your doctor)
Viral Infections and/or Diseases
Pacemaker or major heart problems
Skin irritations or psoriasis/eczema near the treated area (rashes, sunburn, acne, etc.)
Botox within the past 2 weeks
Pregnant or nursing
Those with allergies to makeup, colors or hair-dye
Those with easily triggered post inflammatory hyper pigmentation
Those with transmittable blood conditions like HIV or Hepatitis
Are a hemophiliac
Have healing disorders, on blood thinners, uncontrolled high blood pressure or had mitral valve disorder.
Those on any skin medication such as Roaccutane, steroids which thin and oversensitive the skin.
AHA's (lactic, glycolic, citric, retinoid a d tartaric acids) or any OTC creams and lotions for tone correcting, anti-aging, exfoliating - fading can discolor your semi-permanent makeup.
Juvaderm or other "fillers" in the past 4 weeks.
Shingles (Varicella): If you have shingles on your face, please wait several months to get semi-permanent makeup.
WHAT FACTORS WILL AFFECT MY COSMETIC TATTOO?
Following the aftercare instructions are a MUST!
Susceptibility to cold sores. Please read about how to safeguard yourself from developing cold sores here.
The regrowth of skin cells: The longer the regeneration takes, the longer the pigment holds.
The speed at which the skin absorbs the pigment: The slower the absorption, the longer the pigment will hold.
The selection of color: Some color fade quicker than others.
The location of therapy: Enhancements to the face, as an example, fade faster as a result of constant direct exposure to UV rays.
Bleeding throughout the procedure: Any bleeding during the tattooing treatment will lower the amount of pigment absorption.
Alcohol as well as particular medications work as blood-thinners and must not be taken a day or two before and after your lip blushing procedure.
HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE TO GET TATTOOED?
You must be 18 years or older to receive a tattoo service at LoAnn's Brow Art Studio. If you are under the age of 18, please have a parent/legal guardian email us at LoAnnsBrowStudio@gmail.com for more information.
CAN I GET TATTOOED IF I AM PREGNANT OR NURSING?
As a safety precaution, we do not perform cosmetic tattooing on pregnant or nursing women.
WHAT SHOULD I DO PRIOR TO MY LIP BLUSHING TREATMENT?
Please read our Pre-Care Instructions by clicking here.
HOW WILL I LOOK IMMEDIATELY AFTER? WHAT IS THE HEALING PROCESS?
Your lips will be a bit swollen and the color will be bolder than expected for the first couple days. The color will slowly lighten during the full healing process. Click here to learn more about the healing process.
WHAT SHOULD I DO AFTER THE PROCEDURE?
Please read our Post-Care Instructions by clicking here. It is highly beneficial to follow these instructions to ensure a comfortable healing process and to achieve the best results.
HOW WILL MY LIPS LOOK IN THE FUTURE?
During your visit, we will mix pigments to ensure we achieve the desired lip color (feel free to bring your favorite lipstick as a reference!). Most of our clients’ desired lip shade will stay true to the color 2-4 years (length of time depends on the individual's lifestyle, skin type, genetics, and iron deficiencies). Over time, the color will naturally fade, so to keep your lips looking their best, a touchup/refresh treatment is recommended every 1-2 years. It is important to remember that results will vary from client to client.
IS THE STUDIO AND EQUIPMENT SAFE?
Yes, we pride ourselves in having state-of-the-art equipment, as well as a safe and sterile studio space. We only use single-use, disposable needles, and supplies. After every client, all needles are discarded safely and stations are thoroughly disinfected.
HOW DO I BOOK AN APPOINTMENT?
Please schedule your appointment here. Please note that a NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT is required to schedule and secure your appointment. The deposit is to ensure that you are serious about your appointment and will be deducted from the total price of the service. If you cancel or miss your appointment, you will simply forfeit your deposit. Please read our our Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy in the following section.
(How to Prepare for Your Lip Blushing Appointment)
We recommend our clients to start taking an anti-viral prescription medication (especially for those with a history of cold sores), such as Valacyclovir, Denavir (Penaciclovir), Valtrex, or Acyclovir (Zovirax) within the first few hours, and for the next few days, after the procedure is completed. Cold sore outbreaks are often triggered by stress or trauma to the lips and skin. Therefore if you are a carrier or if you are in close contact with a carrier, lip blushing will likely cause an outbreak if an anti-viral medication is not taken. Important note: Taking an anti-viral prescription does not guarantee that you will not develop cold sores. As a precaution, we recommend taking the medication as a preventative measure and it will also help ensure a smooth healing process. You will be asked to sign a waiver form as it gets close to your scheduled lip blushing appointment.
Avoid alcohol, spicy/salty/acidic foods, and medications that act as blood thinners 48 hours prior to your appointment.
No botox or fillers at least 2 months prior to the procedure.
For better results, please exfoliate your lips 4 days before your appointment. Dab Aquaphor or A&D ointment each night to keep your lips soft.
Lips cannot be sunburned.
Lip fillers and injections should be avoided at least 3 months prior to your appointment.
(How to Care for Your Lips After Treament)
After your procedure, apply the lip ointment before bedtime. Starting the next day, simply apply the ointment whenever your lips feel dry (keep them moisturized).
To ensure your lips stay clean during the healing process, remember to gently clean your lips after eating with a damp cotton pad.
Do not overly extend your lips while they are healing (big smiles, puckering of lips, smoking, etc.).
Signs and symptoms of infection (please contact your physician at first sign of infection):
Feeling Waves of Heat and Cold
Swelling of the Tattooed Area
Pus Coming Out of the Tattooed Area
Red Lesions Around the Tattooed Area
Areas of Hard, Raised Tissue

Donating Blood Clause
You may be eligible to donate blood after getting a tattoo or permanent makeup if it was done at a licensed facility in a regulated state AND it is healed without infection. If your tattoo or permanent makeup was NOT done in a state regulated facility, wait 12 months before donating blood.
Disclosure Statement/Notice for Filing Complaints
Public Act 375, which was enacted in December of 2010, indicates that individuals shall not tattoo, brand, or perform body piercing on another individual unless the tattooing, branding, or body piercing occurs at a body art facility licensed by the Michigan Department of Community Health. As with any invasive procedure, body art may involve possible health risks. These risks may include, but are not limited to: transmissions of blood borne diseases such as HIV and viral hepatitis, skin disorders, skin infections, and allergic reactions.
In addition, persons with certain conditions including, but not limited to, diabetes, hemophilia or epilepsy, are at higher risk for complications and should consult a physician before undergoing a body art procedure. This amount will be debited immediately upon booking and authorization. The remaining balance will be due on the day of your scheduled service.
We know your time is valuable, and ours is too. Out of respect for our staff and our other clients, we ask that you give at least 48 hour notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. This will ensure that we are provided enough time to re-book your appointment slot.
We understand that certain circumstances and emergencies are unavoidable, therefore we will allow ONE reschedule (your deposit will be transferred to your next appointment).
If you fail to provide us at least 48 hour notice of the cancellation/reschedule, your deposit will be forfeited and a new deposit will be requested to rebook a new appointment. A notation will be made on your file and we reserve the right to restrict scheduling for those who cancel in excess.
If you are more than 15 minutes late for your appointment, you will be required to reschedule to ensure we deliver satisfactory service to you and our other clients. Late arrivals will forfeit their deposit and a new deposit will be requested to re-book a new appointment. Please plan your drive/schedule accordingly and arrive 5-10 minutes before your appointment to avoid any late penalties.

The policies listed are applicable to everyone with no exceptions.
ABSOLUTELY NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN FOR ANY DEPOSIT OR SERVICE.
Due to safety considerations and limited space, children are not permitted in the studio.
Our medical suites contain fragile medical equipment and supplies, our artists are unable to perform services safely while a child is in the room without direct supervision. If you are receiving a service, you are unable to provide necessary supervision. This is for your child's/children's safety as well as your own.
We offer a range of services, but many of our clients enter the spa with the intention to relax. To maintain a quiet environment for those in the waiting area and in-service, we ask that you leave all children under the age of 12 at home when you come to receive a service.
LIP BLUSHING TOUCHUP POLICY
Since lip blushing treatments heal beautifully on their own, we do not offer complimentary touchups. Before performing the procedure, a thorough consultation was provided and agreed upon between the client and technician on the thickness, shape, and shade (color). If a client chooses to change the thickness, shape, shade (color), or need a refresh, an extra charge will be incurred. All touchups are priced at the same flat rate of $300.
In some cases, we will offer a complimentary touchup if the procedure did not yield any result (for example, if the pigmentation did not hold). In circumstances such as this, clients must schedule an appointment with us within 2 months of the procedure. Clients are only allowed to reschedule one time for this specific touchup appointment, and the appointment must be scheduled within the first 4 month timeframe from when the procedure was completed. We require a 48 hour notice to reschedule.
